Never thought it would be difficult to describe myself in an “About”.  It would be easier to describe the boys, husband even the dog.  I’m a “lists” person.  Going on vacation, gotta make a list.  Going to the store, gotta make a list (not that I exactly follow it).  So how about a list about me:

1.  Activities (whatever the boys happen to be into at the time of the post)

a.  Karate (we (them) are currently purple belts)

b.  Baseball (the youngest”J”)

c.  Lego league (oldest “J”)

2.  What do I do with my “spare” time

a.  scrapbook (love my cricut)

b.  read (Nora Roberts, Linda Howard, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Sandra Brown, Diana Palmer, Linda Lael Miller and anyone else that will provide me with entertaining romance)

c.  playing with my Droid (I listen to books on it.  I read books on it.  Love it)

d.  once it cools off, back to the garage helping the DH build a 1969 Meyers Manx for me

e.  looking for recipes that my picky family will eat (no casseroles, them not me)

f.  planning our next vacation

I was wondering where and how you make your svg’s. Is it easy?

    • Lea says:

I use Inkscape (free to download) to create the svgs. It was a little confusing at first, but I found lots of easy tutorials on the web. Then you just start playing. You’re not going to mess anything up by just trying it out. After I create an svg in Inkscape, I import it into a program called Sure Cuts a Lot (not free) that cuts my creation on my Cricut. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I’m still a newbie, but I’ll try to answer any questions.

I just looked up this information from CraftEdge

Will this software work with my Cricut™ machine?
Version 1 and 2 of Sure Cuts A Lot are compatible with the Cricut Personal, Cricut Expression, Cricut Create and Cricut Cake machines provided you have a compatible fimrware version on the Cricut machine.

I haven’t upgraded since I purchased my version 1. I was surprised when I read the quote above. Sorry I don’t know where you can get an older version.

Here is another quote from a forum

Announcement Regarding Sure Cuts A Lot Version 1 and 2: We will no longer be offering SCAL Versions 1 and 2. Support for these versions will be available through December 31, 2011.

I’ve looked around and read some forums, but it doesn’t look to hopeful.

Lea thank you so much for the little ducky and the birds and cage. I just love them. Can you make an SVG of a John Deere Tractor. I live in Wisconsin and men all like John Deere. Really John Deere just means its green. Just a simple tractor for kids and guys would be wonderful. Also do you know if SVG’s work with the Silhouette? I have one on order. Thanks Sandi
